PILATES

'Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong Postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit' - Joseph Pilates

Pilates is an exercise method created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. Pilates will strengthen your core, lengthen your spine, increase body awareness, build muscle tone and increase flexibility.

Pilates addresses the body as a whole, resulting in balanced muscle tone. It's the little things that count in Pilates, the attention to the detail of form that makes a simple seeming exercise extremely challenging and thus very effective. With the emphasis on form the body recruits smaller muscles to help the larger ones, developing greater coordination and balance.

Pilates creates long lean flexible muscle by training the muscles to work as they lengthen. Pilates exercises are performed with focused breathing helping the body to stretch effectively, release tension and increase lung capacity. Pilates is a true mind body connection.
